The Schumpeterian view-"Creative Destruction" holds an eminent position both in theoretical literature and academic study.Time and time again, we are washed by the waves of this theory in many interpretations. As students of economics, Schumpeter not only is a matter of importance for study, it also holds an eminent bearing on other aspects.
How can one come to terms with this destructive ideology? How can I believe that when things look as bad as they are, there's a signal of new beginning? It's to easy to read and explain in class, that innovation results from disequilibrium, that business cycles are a shift from one equilibrium to another and that there always exists dynamic currents in the economy. Can the same idea be applied elsewhere? Can i have a beginning after a drastic end?
There are many instances which bring everything to a standstill; as if everything's over after this. We may never want to tread on that path again, that path where that horrendous instance occurred, where my soul got pricked by thorns of deceit and pain. "I'll never walk that path, never!" Will a destructed and battered heart take the chance again? How can I console my heart to create a new beginning? A Schumpeterian analysis; will it help?
Detractors may say that it's crap. One can't apply it on personal life. But what if we can, what if we do it unknowingly, what if we strive to walk down that road again, hoping for lampshades to wipe the darkness and a and extra pair of feet to give us company? Destruction; maybe its not in our hands; but it signals a beginning, a better one. There would be no reason for destruction if the ongoing was the best; there exists possibilities for far better journey. And I hope, we hope for a beginning always.
