Gautama Buddha attained Nirvana at Bodh Gaya and transformed himself from a Kshatriya prince to an humble being with the knowledge about the spiritual world and hence detaching himself from the physical world and it's associated network of pathos and emotions. He surpassed all levels of material attractions; became an idol of worship to millions and preached the doctrine upon which to base our lives.
But this is not about him or his philosophy, this is about how we can attain Nirvana ( even for an hour or so). If you have the luck of having a low-cost hair-cutting salon in your neighborhood, only then you can experience it. Sit back on that chair while the scissors role into action, the comb grazes on your hair while you keep your eyes closed and go point blank. Feel that time of rejuvenation, it's nothing less than being elevated to another dimension. When those skillful hands do the magic massage, it becomes the climax moment. Shaken and stirred, open your eyes to a new awakening; and that's the new recipe for Nirvana!
It's in your drunk walk, it's in your boozed breath, it's in your blurred vision and it stays within you. It's your weird-ass craziness.

Carbide Anyone?
The first batch of those rich colored, straw laden and ripe looking mangoes catch the sight of many in the market. You can't resist the temptation to have one (if you do, then something is hormonally wrong with you). Well, well, those early birds were actually carbide fed to fly of to the markets. Some of us might have taken in some carbide along with those mangoes by now.
So, those mangoes, who fetch a high price initially due to sudden burst in demand have to be ripened artificially and faster by using that doze of fertiliser otherwise how would it retain it's dominance? Similarly, when we enter the market to sell ourselves, the faster we do, the more demand we create and the higher price we are paid for it. Now to do it fast, we also need some form of carbide to enhance our value and be ahead of others. That carbide can be many things depending on us. Those who ripen slowly and enter later fetch a nominal price just to cover up costs.
I'm guessing that none want to be left behind; so anyone for carbide?

Clean your Gutter
Have you noticed the pre-monsoon preparations going on along the streets? What I mean is the cleaning up of the drains along the roads; cleaning them of filth, dirt, garbage all mixed together in a combo pack. This dark scum is scavenged from the drains below the surface and brought to daylight. It this them left to dry and decompose until the garbage van comes to collect it.
Similarly, it is also the time we clean up our inner drains before the rains wet our soul. Otherwise, all the pure water will be clogged, not able to seep through and wash us. The garbage of ethics, behavior, character and culture that has accumulated inside due to the unhealthy food intake need to be cleared. the scum maybe darker than you can think of, but there's nothing to be afraid of going underground.
After all, everything is our own making.

How to kill Boredom
Three alternative and innovative ways to bring boredom to death -
1. Create tension- with the results on its way, this could offer an easy weapon of mass destruction of boredom. Spread hysteria around regarding the results and release panic gas in the air.Idle minds would be definitely stirred and put to action.
2. Flirt around- the summer can effectively become your net practice session for the tournament later on. Go ahead and hone your skills provided you have players to cooperate. So sweat it out, if you have to score!
3. Day rest- Yes that's right! Rest during the day when the sun is working out above and with onset of dusk, leave your nests and roam about. Make the most of the evenings and put your night into motion. All in all, reverse your life-cycle and ride it backwards!

Martyrs' Chowk
Till now I have failed to fully know the expanse Hutatma Chowk. Every day my journey stops somewhere around that Chowk and starts from there as I'm heading home. In fact, people are more familiar in pointing out Flora Fountain and recognize the area better with that Victorian structure. Tourists look for the latter's picture and profile in their travelogues.
Had it not been for this May Day, Hutatma Chowk might have become obsolete from local history.
It was in 1960, when Saurashtra segregated into the present two economic giants Gujurat and Maharashtra, erstwhile known as the State of Bombay. It was a this Chowk where some thousand protest demonstrators died from police firings. Their demand was the creation of a separate state of Bombay and so here we are after 50 years and I'm writing this blog.
Martyrs' Chowk was the symbol of this creation. There have been and will be many protests regarding many demands in due course of time, but the underlying truth is- Some Die so that others Live.
